What is Quikipoll?

Quikipoll is a free online polling platform. It makes it easy for you to create polls suitable for sharing with family, friends, co-workers, customers and more. Easily compare group vote results with those of the quikipoll.com community. The differences can be revealing and fun.

Do I need to sign up in order to vote or create a poll?

No, you don’t need to sign up to vote or to create a poll. However, there are significant benefits to doing so.

  • As a member you get your own poll “Locker” containing all the polls you’ve created, voted on and saved.
  • You are able to “Repoll.” This feature lets you create poll aliases that you control. Each repoll has its own link URL and voting statistics. Repolls are always private and can’t be shown in the Community page.
  • You can save polls to your locker for later reading, voting or repolling.
  • You can share polls and repolls as rich html emails sent by our servers.
  • Stop/start voting on polls/repolls. Stopped polls are not displayed on the Community Polls page and do not accept new votes.

We only require an email and password to signup so it’s as simple as it gets.

How many poll types are available?

There are 4 types of polls available:

  • 2 choice poll like Yes/No or with custom labels like Hot/Not, Sure/Nope, etc.
  • 3 choice poll using Yes/No/Maybe or your own custom labels.
  • A continuous range slider poll with custom min max values
  • Multiple choice poll where the different choices can be text or images

Choose the style that best fits your polling goals.

How can I edit a poll I just created?

If you created the poll while logged in to your account go to your poll locker . Make sure the “Created” group is selected. Look for the poll you want to edit. If the poll is editable, a blue gear icon will be visible. Click on the gear icon and you’ll be sent to the poll editor. Make whatever changes you want and then save the changes.

If your poll does not display the blue gear it is no longer editable. For a poll to be editable it must have zero votes and zero repolls.

I created some polls before becoming a member and as suggested, I saved the Secret Author’s Codes. How do I use these codes to edit my previous polls, get the vote counts, etc.?

  • Sign up and create a member account.
  • Log In to your account and choose Preferences… from the User menu.
  • Scroll down to the “Merge Author’s Code” section.
  • Enter the codes one at a time and press the tab key or click outside the box.
  • All polls previously created using the codes will be transferred to your member account and will be available for management inside the Poll Locker .

I want my polls to show up on your “Community Polls” page but sometimes they don’t show up. Why is that?

Polls shown in the Community page must be reasonably constructed and answerable by anyone. If a poll is too obscure, clearly a test entry, obscene, or otherwise violates our Terms of Service it will not be shown.

Other reasons why polls are not displayed include:

  • When a poll is Stopped (pink background).
  • If the “Show in Community Polls” page is not checked when you create or edit the poll.
  • If it’s a Repoll. Repolls are always private and are never shown.

We also prefer polls created by registered members :-)

It could take some time to see a new poll in the Community page. If after reading this you still think something is not right, please send us a bug report.

Can I create a private poll that is not shown on the “Community Poll” page?

Sure, just make sure the “Show In Community Polls” checkbox at the bottom of the ”Create” page is not checked.

Also, “Repolls” are never shown in the Community Polls page. So you can have a version that is public and one that is private and only seen by a limited audience both running at the same time and with independent statistics.

I can’t see the vote counts in the statistics. Why?

Only a poll’s owner/creator can see the number of votes cast. Voters can only see the percentage results.
